Reasons you should Shred

  1. There’s a 1-in-33 chance you’ll have your identity stolen in the next year according to the Federal Trade Commission! Just to put that in perspective, you have a 1 in 175 million chance of winning the lottery. So if you are hoping for a lottery win, you better believe that you should be shredding those documents too!
  2. Shredding is environmentally friendly. According to the Environmental Protection Agency, each recycled ton of paper fiber saves 17 trees and 3.3 cubic yards of landfill space.
  3. Trash is public property! You read that right…. once your trash reaches the curb, anyone has the right to go through it without your interference. Imagine how easy it would be for someone to rummage through your trash and say…fill out a credit card application in your name
  4. It Helps Prevent Fraud-Any documents with personal details on them can be used by someone to steal an identity. If you don’t shred your documents before you throw them out, identity thieves can use those details to sign up for things like credit cards or passports under a stolen person. You may be thinking, how likely is it that someone would rummage through your bins just to steal your identity, but it does happen.
  5. It’s Good for the Planet-Shredding your documents means less waste is sent to landfill sites. Landfill pollutes the land, sky and water. Here, at Shredded Neat, we send zero waste to landfill sites and ensure your confidential documents and waste are completely recycled.
  6. It Saves Time-A confidential shredding service will help to save you time and effort. By letting a professional shred your documents on your behalf you will be freeing up valuable time and effort
