East Point/College Park Alumnae Chapter

As we approach this critical election year, it’s more important than ever to ensure your voter registration is up-to-date. Here’s a step-by-step guide to checking and updating your voter registration status using Georgia’s My Voter Page.

Step 1: Check Your Voter Registration Status

To check your current voter registration status:

  1. Visit the Georgia My Voter Page: You can do this on your computer or mobile device.
  2. Enter Your Information: Provide your first initial, last name, county, and date of birth.
  3. Submit Your Information: Click on the submit button, and your registration status will appear on the screen.
  4. Verify Your Status: Look for the word “STATUS” in the center of the screen. If your status is active, it will be displayed in green.
  5. Check Your Mailing Address: Ensure that your current address is correct. If not, you’ll need to update it immediately.

Step 2: Updating Your Registration

If your registration doesn’t reflect your current address or if there’s an error (e.g., misspelled name or wrong county), you can update it online if you have a Georgia Driver’s License or DDS-issued voter ID card.

To Update Your Registration:

  1. Click “Update Voter Information”: This option is located at the bottom right of the screen.
  2. Edit Your Information: On the next page, select “Edit” in the “Personal Information” section, then update your residence address.
  3. Verify Your Identity: Enter your Georgia driver’s license or ID number and date of birth.
  4. Submit Your Changes: Review all the information for accuracy and click “Submit.” Note that your request will be reviewed by your local county registrar, which may take 5-7 business days.

What If You Can't Register Online?

For voters without a Georgia Driver’s License or DDS-issued voter ID card, online registration is not available. You’ll need to submit your voter registration by mail or in person. Visit Georgia DDS to update your information with the Division of Driver Services.

If you encounter any issues or have questions, the Voter Protection Hotline at 888-730-5816 is available to assist you. They can help check your registration and troubleshoot any problems you may face.

Important Reminders

  • Check Your Registration Often: Mistakes can happen. Be sure to verify your information regularly, especially if you’ve recently moved.
  • Encourage Others: Remind your friends and family to check their voter registration as well. Every vote counts, and we all need to be ready for the upcoming election.
